Generalmente, en los repasos veraniegos, solemos reforzar temas tratados durante el resto del año previo a fin de afianzar conceptos que nos resultan especialmente interesantes. En esta ocasión, el repaso será de un artículo publicado en junio de 2015 en referencia al movimiento antivacunas. A día de hoy, el mismo movimiento pero ampliando sus horizontes con la inminente vacuna contra la COVID-19, el propio SARS-CoV-2, las mascarillas, el 5G, etc. Nada nuevo, por lo que podemos observar echando la vista atrás solo unos pocos años.

No se asusten, estimados lectores, a pesar del título del post que ofrecemos hoy, no vamos a vender ningún seguro en referencia a las recientes y preocupantes noticias publicadas en la prensa española durante estos días.

Desgraciadamente, hoy toda España se encuentra pendiente del estado de salud de un niño de seis años que según refieren las autoridades sanitarias al momento de escribir estas líneas, se encuentra ingresado en la unidad de cuidados intensivos del Hospital Vall d´Hebron de Barcelona luchando contra un bacilo que creíamos ausente de nuestro medio en pleno siglo XXI. Nos referimos al primer contagio de Difteria en territorio español desde 1987.

El debate está servido, estimados lectores. Posiblemente algunos de ustedes se sientan aludidos o incluso agredidos ante la franqueza de quien hoy escribe sobre la salud de nuestros hijos. Les hablaré ahora en primera persona. Yo, también soy padre y médico. No duden por un momento que conozca los efectos secundarios de las vacunas del calendario vacunal español. Igualmente conozco los indudables beneficios de la vacunación y todo ello de primera mano tras largos años de estudio que no se ciñen exclusivamente a los años que abarca la formación universitaria sino también todos aquellos textos sobre avances en la materia ya bajo el prisma de una serie de conocimientos que me permiten discriminar y someter a crítica la información que recibo. Estos conocimientos no se basan en la opinión de determinados gurús o “iluminados”, ni en los vastos conocimientos del Dr. Google, que unas veces ofrece informaciones veraces y otras muchas autenticas sandeces y que alguien no instruido en la ciencia médica no está en disposición de discriminar eficientemente.
Dicho todo esto, les participo que mis hijas están total y correctamente vacunadas. Juzguen ustedes.
