Seguimos esta semana con el monográfico sobre COVID19 en el que se ha convertido la temática publicada en el blog. Tal y como hemos comentado con anterioridad es la actualidad científica e informativa la que va abriendo el camino a seguir en amplia-mente.com. Como nos han mencionado amigos y compañeros, a día de hoy, solo parece que interese lo relacionado con el SARS-CoV-2.

We continue this week with the monograph on COVID19 which has become the theme published in the blog. As we have previously mentioned, it is the scientific and informative news that is opening the way to follow in amplia-mente.com. As we have been mentioned by friends and colleagues, at present, only the SARS-CoV-2 issue seems to be of interest.

Ciertamente, en estos tiempos de Internet 3.0, la información es ofrecida casi en directo por los emisores de la misma. En el caso que nos ocupa, la propia OMS ha ido cambiando de criterio y con dicho cambio, los responsables sanitarios de los distintos gobiernos del planeta han ido cambiando la información evacuada a la población. Vemos con ello que la rapidez con la que se nos ofrecen las novedades científicas, queda ensombrecida por informaciones aparentemente contradictorias, pues hoy día preferimos cantidad de datos con los que alimentar las noticias frente a conclusiones contrastadas que, evidentemente, van a requerir el seguimiento escrupuloso del método científico, que entre otras cosas requiere de tiempo.

Certainly, in these times of Internet 3.0, the information is offered almost live by the issuers of the same. In this case, the WHO itself has changed its criteria and with it, the health officials of the various governments of the planet. We see that the speed with which we are offered scientific news is overshadowed by apparently contradictory information, since today we prefer a quantity of data with which to feed the news as opposed to contrasting conclusions which, evidently, are going to require the scrupulous monitoring of the scientific method, which among other things requires time.

Creemos que por eso existe la avidez actual por las noticias sobre la COVID-19.

Dicho ésto y como imaginarán, estimados lectores, seguiremos tratando información relacionada con la pandemia en la que vivimos inmersos. Hoy trataremos otra faceta en relación a la enfermedad. Hemos comentado cuestiones en relación a la patología forense, en especial sobre la autopsia judicial, sobre psiquiatría, secuelas somáticas e incluso hemos criticado la incoherencia de considerar héroes a nuestros sanitarios por un lado, mientras por otro los volvemos a poner en riesgo no acatando las recomendaciones de las autoridades sanitarias.

But there is a central issue for this blog that has not yet been addressed. Today we will talk about gender violence.

En Revista Española de Medicina Legal se publica un interesante punto de vista sobre la pandemia creada por el SARS-CoV-2 en relación a la violencia de género, titulado Violencia de género en tiempos de pandemia y confinamiento, firmado por Miguel Lorente Acosta, hoy profesor titular de Medicina Legal en la Universidad de Granada, aunque no debemos olvidar que demás de ser médico forense, ha sido director del Instituto de Medicina Legal de Granada, coordinador general de los Institutos de Medicina Legal de Andalucía, director general de asistencia jurídica a víctimas de violencia de la Consejería de Justicia de la Junta de Andalucía y Delegado del Gobierno para la Violencia de Género adscrito al Ministerio de Igualdad, por lo que es indudable que en lo referente a la violencia de género es una de las referencias a considerar en España.

En el artículo enlazado, viene a enumerar una serie de factores de riesgo a considerar en las especiales circunstancias que nos está tocando vivir. Se deja muy claro desde el principio de su reflexión la diferencia existente entre violencia de género y violencia doméstica, a pesar de que determinados grupos sociales, mas interesados en imponer determinadas ideologías, se empeñen en igualar ambos conceptos. Sintetizando mucho las diferencias entre ambos tipos de violencia, podemos afirmar que en la violencia domestica, la violencia es el fin perseguido y en la violencia de género, la violencia ejercida, es un medio para conseguir un fin mayor que no suele que ser otro que el sometimiento de la mujer a una situación de control impuesta por su agresor.

From the beginning of its reflection, the difference between gender violence and domestic violence is made very clear, in spite of the fact that certain social groups, more interested in imposing certain ideologies, insist on equalizing both concepts. Synthesizing the differences between both violences, we can affirm that in domestic violence, violence is the end pursued and in gender violence, the violence exercised, is a means to achieve a greater end which is usually none other than the submission of the woman to a situation of control imposed by her aggressor.

Durante la situación de confinamiento impuesto por las autoridades sanitarias, es evidente que el aislamiento social dificulta bastante la solicitud de ayuda en caso de presentarse alguna situación catalogable como violencia de género. No sirven los argumentos de que han bajado los casos, pues el propio aislamiento ha hecho que aquellas situaciones que en condiciones normales se hubiesen denunciado, queden ocultas en la intimidad del hogar. Que estén disminuyendo las denuncias, por tanto, no es un valor indicativo de la situación actual.

El aspecto que nos ha resultado novedoso del artículo enlazado es el planteamiento evolutivo de las situaciones como violencia de género gestadas durante el confinamiento. ¿Cuales pueden ser las consecuencias de esta situación de aislamiento impuesto?

The aspect that is new to us in the linked article is the evolutionary approach to situations such as gender violence that arise during confinement. What could be the consequences of this situation of imposed isolation?

Durante el confinamiento se está creando una potenciación de los elementos constitutivos de violencia de género. El aislamiento viene impuesto institucionalmente y con ello el control y la imposibilidad de la víctima de salir de esa situación. Se produce, pues, una situación ideal para el agresor, tanto para casos previos como para casos iniciados durante la pandemia.

During confinement, an empowerment of the constitutive elements of gender-based violence is being created. Isolation is institutionally imposed and with it the control and the impossibility of the victim to get out of that situation. An ideal situation is therefore created for the aggressor, both for previous cases and for cases initiated during the pandemic.

Como decíamos, una de las ideas que nos resulta mas novedosa en el artículo enlazado es el planteamiento de las consecuencias tras la situación creada. Si el núcleo central de la violencia de género es la relación entre dominación y sumisión interpretada, respectivamente, por agresor y víctima a través del control mediado por violencia física, psíquica o sexual, ¿que pasará en el futuro con aquellos agresores que perciban han perdido el cómodo control ejercido sobre sus parejas gracias al confinamiento al que han sido sometidos

As we said, one of the ideas that we find most novel in the article linked is the approach to the consequences after the situation created. If the central core of gender-based violence is the relationship between domination and submission interpreted, respectively, by the aggressor and victim through control mediated by physical, psychological or sexual violence, what will happen in the future with those aggressors who perceive they have lost the comfortable content of their lives?

Cuanto menos, nos encontramos ante un factor de riesgo a añadir a los habituales, cuyo peligro no radica en constituirse como una circunstancia mas, sino que por su propia naturaleza, es muy posible que actúe como factor multiplicador de riesgo previamente existente.

At the very least, we are faced with a risk factor to be added to the usual ones, the danger of which does not lie in constituting another circumstance, but by its very nature, it is very possible that it acts as a multiplier of previously existing risk.
