La acompañada soledad
Hace bastante tiempo que no escribimos de nuestros mayores en relación a la pérdida de sus recuerdos por la enfermedad de Alzheimer. Lo cierto es que en el trabajo cotidiano de los Institutos de Medicina Legal de España, los ancianos son frecuentemente presentados como sujetos pasivos de determinados tipos delictivos de muy variada índole, siendo el maltrato a ancianos el que despierta una mayor atención mediática.
The solitude of the patient of Alzheimer’s disease
A long time ago that does not write of the elderly in relation to the loss of their memories by Alzheimer’s disease. What is certain is that in the daily work of the institutes of Legal Medicine in Spain, the elderly are often presented as passive subjects of certain types of crime of very varied nature, being the abuse of the elderly which arouses a greater media attention.

Estamos seguros que si se hiciera una encuesta rápida en personas encuadradas en un rango medio de edad, una de las enfermedades que puedan temer con mayor frecuencia sería la Enfermedad de Alzheimer, la cual arrebata a la persona lo que durante toda su vida ha llegado a ser hasta alcanzar un grado de dependencia tal que en el mejor de los casos obliga a la familia a adaptar la vida de todos sus miembros a cuidar a esa persona mayor que se lo ha dado todo.
