Como en años anteriores, dedicaremos unas líneas al inminente Día Internacional para la Eliminación de la Violencia contra las Mujeres, a celebrar el 25 de noviembre.

As in previous years, we will dedicate a few lines to the imminent International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to be celebrated on 25 November.
La celebración de este día, fue promovida por la Asamblea General de la ONU a fin de que gobiernos y organizaciones, tanto dependientes de los estados como organizaciones no gubernamentales, se implicasen en la necesidad de concienciación pública frente a todo tipo de violencia contra las mujeres.
The celebration of this day was promoted by the UN General Assembly so that governments and organizations, both dependent on states and non-governmental organizations, are involved in the need for public awareness of all types of violence against women.
Aunque la ONU, estableció oficialmente este día desde el año 2000, en realidad estamos ante una fecha reivindicada desde los años ochenta del siglo veinte por organizaciones que luchan en favor de los derechos de las mujeres, y usada para honrar la memoria de las tres hermanas Mirabal, asesinadas en República Dominicana precisamente por ser activistas pro derechos de la mujer.
Although the UN officially established this day in the year 2000, in reality we are facing a date claimed since the eighties of the twentieth century by organizations fighting for women’s rights, and used to honor the memory of the three Mirabal sisters, murdered in the Dominican Republic precisely for being activists for women’s rights.
Este día, a criterio de quien hoy les escribe, adquiere especial importancia en España, ya que a pesar de que la mayoría de nuestra clase política, con mayor o menos acierto, refiere apoyar la lucha ante la violencia contra la mujer, observamos con estupor como están viendo la luz corrientes populistas que niegan esta evidencia.
This day, in the opinion of those who write to you today, acquires special importance in Spain, because although the majority of our political class, with greater or lesser success, refers to supporting the fight against violence against women, we observe with astonishment how populist currents are seeing the light that deny this evidence.
Es muy preocupante esta tendencia, pues nos indica varias cosas. Una de las mas llamativas es que viendo el auge de los discursos de odio contra toda lucha por la igualdad real entre hombres y mujeres, es el preocupante calado que está teniendo este mensaje en no pequeños sectores de la población. A base de mensajes falaces desde su misma concepción, este grupo negacionista de la violencia contra la mujer, está consiguiendo que parte de la población crea estos mensajes basados en falsos presupuestos, de modo que con un pequeño esfuerzo, pero bien difundido en redes sociales y medios afines, se esté percibiendo un retroceso en los avances que tanto nos ha constado conseguir hasta ahora.
This trend is very worrying, as it indicates several things to us. One of the most striking is that seeing the rise of hate speeches against all struggle for real equality between men and women, is the worrying depth that is having this message in not small sectors of the population. Based on false messages from its very conception, this group denying violence against women, is getting part of the population to create these messages based on false budgets, so that with a small effort, but well disseminated in social networks and related media, we are perceiving a setback in the progress that we have been able to achieve so much so far.
Es curioso que estos grupos de pensamiento radical, que a pesar de su pequeño número (o no tan pequeño a tenor de los recientes resultados electorales tras las eleciones generales celebradas el 10 de noviembre), logran influir en grupos de tendencia similar aunque mucho mas moderada. Decíamos que resulta curioso, como este grupo radical en su lucha antifeminista, esgrime y presume de su carácter constitucionalista frente a otras opciones políticas, pero parecen obviar que es la propia Constitución Española de 1978, la que promulga la igualdad de todos los españoles. Parece que para estos grupos de pensamiento único y autoritario, la Constitución es tan solo un “manual teórico” que solo queda bien para atacar a los adversarios, pero que a la hora de aplicar esta igualdad real entre hombres y mujeres promulgada por la propia Constitución, ya no hay que aplicar la con tanto rigor.
It is curious that these groups of radical thought, that in spite of their small number (or not so small according to the recent electoral results after the general elections celebrated on November 10), manage to influence groups of similar tendency although much more moderate. We said that it is curious, as this radical group in its anti-feminist struggle, wields and boasts of its constitutionalist character against other political options, but they seem to ignore that it is the Spanish Constitution of 1978 itself, which promulgates the equality of all Spaniards. It seems that for these groups of single and authoritarian thought, the Constitution is only a «theoretical manual» that only looks good to attack the adversaries, but when applying this real equality between men and women promulgated by the Constitution itself, it is no longer necessary to apply it so rigorously.
El Día Internacional para la Eliminación de la Violencia contra las Mujeres que se conmemora en pocos días, lo hace contra todo tipo de violencias. Todos solemos pensar en la violencia de género cuando hablamos de violencia contra la mujer (aunque haya gente que a día de hoy “presume” de no creer en la violencia de género), pero es preciso puntualizar que existen otras violencias como la sexual, la trata de seres humanos o temas tan “lejanos” en nuestra “cómoda” Europa como son la mutilación genital o el matrimonio infantil.
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which is commemorated in a few days, does so against all types of violence. We all tend to think about gender violence when we talk about violence against women (although there are people who today «presume» not to believe in gender violence), but we must point out that there are other forms of violence such as sexual violence, trafficking in human beings or issues as «distant» in our «comfortable» Europe such as genital mutilation or child marriage.
Si volvemos a nuestra confortable palestra del primer mundo, podríamos reflexionar sobre las microviolencias que ejercen nuestras empresas sobre las mujeres otorgándoles salarios inferiores a los de los hombres ante los mismos trabajoso los tan nombrados pero nunca rotos techos de cristal por los cuales mujeres ante la misma preparación, jamás accederán a puestos directivos similares a sus iguales masculinos. O sin ir tan lejos, la aceptación tácita por parte de muchas de estas familias por las que luchan los radicales de los párrafos anteriores, del hecho de que es la mujer la que ha de llevar la gestión del hogar y la propia familia en si, tras una jornada laboral idéntica a la de cualquier hombre.
If we go back to our comfortable first world arena, we could reflect on the microviolences that our companies exert on women, giving them lower salaries than men before the same hardworking men, the so named but never broken glass ceilings by which women before the same preparation, will never accede to managerial positions similar to their masculine equals. Or without going so far, the tacit acceptance by many of these families for which the radicals of the previous paragraphs are fighting, of the fact that it is the woman who has to manage the home and the family itself, after a working day identical to that of any man.
¿Consideran exagerado considerar como formas de violencia de baja intensidad todos estos micromachismos grabados a fuego en el ADN de nuestra sociedad? Nosotros creemos que no, puesto que si diésemos a elegir a todas las mujeres que las sufren, no duden que elegirían no pasar por ellas, por lo que no es descabellado afirmar que estas mujeres están forzadas a sufrir estas situaciones.
Do you consider it exaggerated to consider all these micro-machisms engraved in the DNA of our society as low-intensity forms of violence? We think not, since if we were to choose all the women who suffer them, do not doubt that they would choose not to go through them, so it is not unreasonable to say that these women are forced to suffer these situations.
El lema a usar este año, es “Pinta el mundo de naranja: Generación igualdad se opone a mal violación” y se usará durante 16 días de modo que se llegará con ello al 10 de diciembre, coincidiendo con el Día de los Derechos Humanos.
The motto to use this year is “Orange the World: Generation Equality Stands Against Rape” and it will be used for 16 days so that it will reach December 10, coinciding with Human Rights Day.
Dear readers, as you have been able to observe, in today’s reflection, we have not linked any medical news on the subject in question, but we believe that issues such as the one we are dealing with today, should only convey the concern to reflect on the subject exposed and violence against women is one of those issues that should make us meditate more often.

Estimados lectores, como han podido observar, en la reflexión de hoy, no hemos enlazado ninguna novedad médica sobre el tema en cuestión, pero creemos que asuntos como el que hoy tratamos, tan solo deben transmitir la inquietud por reflexionar sobre el tema expuesto y la violencia contra la mujer es uno de esos asuntos que debería hacernos meditar mas a menudo.
