amplia-mente.com hemos reflexionado sobre la necesidad de una adaptación legislativa respecto a la lacra de la violencia de género. Las mas de mil mujeres asesinadas en España desde la entrada del nuevo milenio, hacía clamor popular esta necesidad.
Gender violence, better late than never
We have reflected from amplia-mente.com on the need for legislative adaptation regarding the scourge of gender-based violence on a number of occasions since enlargement. The more than a thousand women murdered in Spain since the beginning of the new millennium, made this need a popular request.
Hoy a la fecha de publicación del presente artículo, por fin, el Congreso aprueba el Pacto de Estado para atajar la violencia machista. No entraremos en considerar cuestiones políticas pues no es el cometido de este blog hacer ese tipo de reflexiones. Entendemos que un Pacto de Estado sobre un problema de esta magnitud, no debe ser contaminado por cuestiones políticas sino que, por el contrario, debe ser movido por una necesidad acuciante en la realidad cotidiana de la ciudadanía española.
Today at the date of publication of this article, finally, Congress approves the State Pact to stop sexist violence. We will not enter into consideration political issues because it is not the purpose of this blog to make such kind of reflections. We understand that a State Pact on a problem of this magnitude, should not be contaminated by political issues, but, on the contrary, must be moved by a pressing need in the daily reality of spanish citizenship.
Este pacto, con mas de doscientas nuevas medidas, pretende que las mujeres víctimas de maltrato machista y sus hijos tengan garantizada la protección permanentemente y ello desde el mismo momento que se tenga la mas mínima sospecha de la existencia del maltrato, incluyendo en el proceso a los médicos de atención primaria que puedan identificar algún indicador de sospecha. No solo se incidirá en el terreno sanitario, que evidentemente es de los que mas puedan llamar la atención en un blog de índole médica. Las medidas propuestas implican a todas las administraciones públicas, abarcando entre otras la justicia, educación y la seguridad ciudadana, entre otras, para que la protección y por tanto la prevención empiece incluso antes de la denuncia, pues es un hecho plenamente contrastado que un porcentaje importantísimo de mujeres víctimas de violencia de género, incluso aquellas asesinadas, no han denunciado nunca la situación que viven precisamente por el grave dominio que ejerce el maltratador que las hace creer que si denuncian sufrirán mayores perjuicios que el calvario que se resignan a vivir en silencio. Evidentemente, ante todas estas nuevas medidas a adoptar, el pacto garantiza la formación de aquellos profesionales participantes, que desde los distintos campos de las administraciones deban aplicar las novedades legislativas que luchen contra esta lacra.
This pact, with over two hundred new measures, aims to ensure that women victims of male-dominated violence and their children are guaranteed protection permanently and from the moment they have the slightest suspicion of abuse, including in the process primary care physicians who can identify any suspect indicators. Not only will it affect the health field, which is obviously one of the most attention-grabbing in a medical blog. The proposed measures involve all public administrations, including justice, education and citizen security, among others, so that protection and therefore prevention begins even before the complaint, as it is a fact fully verified that a percentage very important of women victims of gender violence, even those killed, have never denounced the situation that live precisely because of the serious dominance exercised by the abuser that makes them believe that if they denounce suffer more harm than calvary who resign themselves to live in silence . Obviously, before all these new measures to be adopted, the pact guarantees the training of those professionals involved, who from the different fields of the administrations should apply legislative developments that fight against this scourge.
Al margen de aquellas medidas que amplían las ya existentes en los sectores de la Administración Pública ya implicados en la lucha, nos congratula comprobar como se empieza a incidir en el campo de la educación impulsando medidas contra el machismo en las escuelas y los propios programas educativos, o la vigilancia de los medios de información, evitando estereotipos sexistas en noticias y publicidad. Todo un acierto, a nuestro entender, si pensamos a largo plazo, de cara a erradicar los roles sexistas ya injertados en la infancia y adolescencia de hoy que serán los adultos del futuro a los que deberíamos “vacunar” frente a este tipo de pensamiento sexista, a fin de romper el circulo vicioso del machismo.
Apart from those measures that expand those already existing in the public administration sectors already involved in the fight, we are pleased to see how it is beginning to have an impact in the field of education by promoting measures against machismo in schools and the educational programs themselves , or the surveillance of the media, avoiding sexist stereotypes in news and publicity. It is a good idea, in our opinion, if we think in the long term, in order to eradicate the sexist roles already grafted on today’s childhood and adolescence, which will be the adults of the future who we should «vaccinate» against this kind of sexist thinking , in order to break the vicious circle of male chauvinism.
We believe that this is a very important step initiated by the Spanish Legislative Branch. Let us think that in the recent democratic history of this country, the State Pacts have been very scarce and generally of great political, legislative and finally social significance. Let us hope that we are facing one of those cases in which the political differences to address the problem from the reality of the situation.

Entendemos que se trata de un paso importantísimo iniciado por el Poder Legislativo español. Pensemos que en la reciente historia democrática de este país, los Pactos de Estado han sido muy escasos y generalmente de gran trascendencia política, legislativa y finalmente social. Esperemos que estemos ante uno de esos casos en los que se aparcan las diferencias políticas para abordar el problema desde la realidad del mismo.
